So much to tell.
May 9th
At work were shooting a commercial for the gym. And as it looks now I’ll make it on camera, which is really cool! I now understand why actors get paid the big bucks- take after take after take.
It’s in post production right now, as soon as it’s running I’ll of course post it on here.
Also it was my birthday! So we decided to do what we were suppose to do a few weeks back, get a hotel in Toronto and party up.
May 10-21st
About a week before my birthday I made it to 199lbs. 1 pound away from my goal. Howeger I could feel myself breaking down. Not because of the additional weight but because I had been lifting heavy and hard for the past 6 months!
In fact it’s surprising I wasn’t feeling worse. Normally I recommend not going more than 12 weeks hard with out some kind of down week or rest week.
In a future post on ‘joint savers’.
May 23rd
Ever been to a bodybuilding/ fitness show? If you enjoy people watching it’s a must!
My ‘yes woman’ Melissa (she’s saying yes to all invites) tagged along with me to the show, I told her she’d get amazing material for her blog, and it did not disappoint.
These shows are a sub-culture of the gym goer. If you aren’t a regular gym-rat it will never completely make sense! That being said, even I was a little awe struck, by all the overly tanned muscular bodies in swim suits everywhere.
Even though I was about 15 pounds heavier than at the beginning of the year, I felt small!
The contest took place in a school auditorium but the real show was out in the halls. I gotta admit I loved just watching all of these personalities, and watching Melissa’s reaction to them!
I made her get a picture with a couple just so she could post, and I also had to have something (other than memory burn) to remember the experience.
Lisa and James were more than happy to pose with us, they made our night!
My gym had people competing and they did very well. A first place, 2 seconds and a third. Congrats- Cara, Nathalie and Ron! And congrats to my other friend Rachel on a first place finish.
Speaking to my boss today he told me next time he’d get me back stage…Melissa we have another road trip!
I don’t know who was DJing this show but the music was good, so much so that Mel and I decided to head to Hess Village (a collect of bars e frequent) and meet up with other friends to go dancing.
The Keffiyeh
Before going to the bar I threw on a keffiyeh. And I do wear it both as a political/ fashion statement. It was met with mixed reactions, some said ‘gay’ some said “Brad Pitt wears them” and a girl did buy me a drink, I had an ice breaker all night. So it can’t be that bad! I’ll have to try it again and see what happens.
Not sure what i’m talking about? Check out the videos…
As I see it people just need to be educated on what it stands for. What do you think of them?
Over all the 23rd was a fun day!
Whew, well thats it for now. Off to watch Lebron…
