About me…

Hi I’m Paul Thomas or as many like to call me PT. Officially I’ve been in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, weight loss coach, and strength coach since 2002.

Looking back on how I got started I realize how much I was influenced by my parents. Thanks mom and dad!

Born in Toronto I lived in Jamaica with my grandparents when I was young.

My grandma being a grandma subscribed to the old adage, ‘eat up!’ As a result I was a heavy little 5 year old. When I came back to Canada my step-dad got me into soccer and all that extra weight came off.

At some point I started not only watching my mom do the 20 Minute Work Out, but I started doing them with her, I still remember the first time I made it through all of the ab work without stopping! I started reading my dad’s muscle magazines, I think more so just to see girls in bikinis but just from observing my parents it must have left some imprint on me. Who knew that your parents can influence you! Hear that Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan’s parents! Ha ha joking, they’re grown women.

Anyways, come high school, I started to really take working out a little more seriously, yet I would still go through periods of inconsistency.

After high school came university, a new gym and a new consistency to working out. In a 3 month period I gained 12 pounds of muscle. Because of that people started approaching me on how to add muscle and get leaner.

While I was always willing to help others, it some times ruined my work outs. So I decided to get paid to answer these questions, became a personal trainer and started working at the gym.

I quickly realized what was deemed as accepted knowledge was way off! So I started doing my own research and experimenting (6 years and counting). Soon I became the ‘go to guy’ at the gym. Even other trainers would ask opinion on various topics.

This Blog is just to offer advice and give my opinion on various fitness related topics, so I hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as I will!
