Slight setback

Yesterday I was all set to work out, however when I got the gym I saw a bunch of guy playing basketball. And of course stupid me I just right in to play with them. This was stupid on a few levels. First it’s not conducive to me achieving my goal of 200lbs but also because my legs were still hurting from my squat work out!

On a good note I weighed myself and had my body fat taken.

According to the bio-impedance my body fat is around 12.8% however the problem with bio-impedance is that it can be thrown off by how hydrated you are and when you last ate. But either way if I was to go by that I’ve come down 2%, but again I don’t really trust the accuracy of these machines when it comes to lean people.

Fortunately I also had it checked with a 3 point caliper pinching. And according to that, I was at 6.2%.

The last time I had it done with calipers was august of 2007 and I was around 4.5% then if I remember correctly. So no big changes by the numbers but mentally I think I’m like the Pillsbury doughboy!

Sleep is good…

On Tuesday I had to train someone at 7am, which meant I had to be up for around 6:20, which is much earlier than I was use to getting up.

So that meant I had to get to bed at 10:30 at the lasted, if was to get at least 7.5 hours of sleep. And believe me this was no easy feet, because I’m a night owl!

Well some how I was able to get to bed by 10 and I was actually up before my alarm (I think I was hungry).

Needless to say I was early, and my client had a great work out because I was able to give her a lot of energy.

Today however, was a different story. It started with the L.A. Lakers versus the San Antonio Spurs, they always play close games and this was no exception, it came down to the last 10 seconds, for those interested my Spurs won 112-111!

Now great as a game it was it took place on the west coast. So it didn’t end until 11:54pm. I was lucky if I got 6 hours sleep.

And of course I was exhausted this morning. So I know I wasn’t at my best for her this morning.

All this thinking of sleep got my thinking of just how important sleep is for EVERYONE!

Those trying to gain muscle, lose fat, or perform at their best. I would get into it with this post however it’s getting late, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
