Well I don’t believe it but I’m at an all time high body weight! As I had stated the highest body weight I had ever achieved was a very lean 189lbs just before I had a try-out with the Toronto Agronauts.
Not that I didn’t think I would get here at some point, it’s just that it sneaked up on me! I had a few bad days of eating this last week so I wasn’t expecting to hit 190 this quickly. In fact I even waited a couple of days to make sure I wasn’t just retaining water! ha ha.
Now obviously increasing my calories has made a huge impact, and I also believe I’m getting better glycogen uptake.
To simplify things as much as possible think of the muscles as storage for sugars (glycogen). My work outs before this year involved a lot of lower reps 6 or fewer. This rep range in general will involve the nervous system to a greater extend.
However now I am working in the “bodybuilding (body shaping) zone” 8-12 reps. Which causes greater metabolic disruptions, and depletes the storage of sugars in your muscles!
So after lifting in the lower rep zone for so long and now switching I may be experiencing a super-compensation in glycogen uptake. Meaning my muscles are sucking up carbs, which is exactly what you want!
Hopefully this weekend I’ll have some new pictures for you guys.
